- Aganova will inspect more than 100 km of water supply pipelines serving 4.1 million people across 12 municipalities in Curitiba using Nautilus technology.
Curitiba, Brasil – April 23, 2025. Aganova has announced the launch of a major in-line inspection project using its Nautilus technology in Brazil. The initiative will focus on detecting and locating leaks and air pockets within the water supply infrastructure of the Integrated Water Supply System of Curitiba (SAIC), in the state of Paraná.
This strategic deployment will cover over 100 kilometers of pipelines, serving a total population of more than 4.1 million people across 12 municipalities in the Greater Curitiba Metropolitan Region.
A Strategic Partnership to Boost Efficiency and Sustainability
The project is being carried out in close collaboration with Effico, under the leadership of Sanepar, Paraná’s public water utility. The inspection campaign is set to begin in April 2025 and will provide valuable operational data to improve network efficiency, reduce losses, and enhance the long-term resilience of the SAIC system.
This initiative is aligned with regional goals for sustainable urban water management and represents a significant step forward in the digital transformation of water infrastructure in Latin America.
Nautilus: Non-Invasive Inspections Without Service Disruption
The Nautilus system enables non-invasive, in-line inspection of pressurized pipelines. It operates while the system remains in service, avoiding the need for shutdowns or interruptions.
Using high-precision sensors, Nautilus accurately detects and locates leaks and air pockets, allowing utilities to act quickly and efficiently. This is essential for minimizing operational impact while enhancing system performance.
Supporting Brazil’s Water Utilities with Local Presence
“Our expansion into Brazil and this collaboration with Sanepar represent a key milestone in Aganova’s global growth strategy,” said Agustín Ramírez, CEO of Aganova.
“We are committed to helping water utilities in Latin America tackle water loss challenges through advanced, data-driven solutions that are efficient, scalable, and sustainable.”
To strengthen its presence in the region, Aganova has opened a new regional office in São Paulo. This local base enables faster response times and closer support for both public and private water operators across Brazil.
