Volos, Greece – October 1, 2026. Aganova, a leading company specializing in advanced leak detection and pipeline condition assessment of large-diameter water pipelines, is entering the Greek market with its first project in the country, supporting Volos Water Supply and Sewerage Company (DEYAMB) in the assessment of a major wastewater transmission pipeline in the city of Volos.
The project will cover approximately 8 kilometres of DN800 pipeline and is designed to detect and accurately locate leaks along the wastewater transmission main. The inspection is scheduled to take place this autumn.
The pipeline comprises two different materials: approximately 600 metres of polyethylene followed by 7.4 kilometres of asbestos cement. Aganova will deploy its in-line pipeline inspection technology to provide DEYAMB with precise, actionable information to support the management and maintenance of this critical infrastructure.
While a significant part of Aganova’s work worldwide focuses on drinking water networks, the Volos project demonstrates the application of advanced pipeline inspection and water leak detection technologies to wastewater infrastructure. Detecting leaks and gaining a better understanding of pipeline condition can help utilities prioritize interventions, optimize maintenance and reduce environmental and operational risks.
